On Thursday July 11th,2024 the world lost a true "one of a kind" man. Douglas William Swindal passed away peacefully surrounded by his close family at the young age of 53.
Doug was known for soaking up every ounce of happiness that life had to offer and in return gave it right back to us all. His infectious zest for life, quick-witted humor and positivity is what drew everyone to him.
If you were to look up the word "fun" in the dictionary there for sure will be a photo Doug there. He would tell what he thought were the funniest jokes ever repeatedly and laugh at himself the whole time. If there was a dance floor in sight, he was always the first one on it and trying to drag you along with him.
Doug is survived by his two greatest accomplishments his son, Steven Douglas Swindal (and his DIL "My Megan") His daughter Shelby "Squigy" Swindal, childhood sweetheart and mother of his two children Belinda Perez Swindal, Parents: Donald Garret Swindal (Wilma Swindal) and Connie Swindal Felice (Jerry Felice) Brothers: Tim Swindal (Sondra Swindal) and Shannon Swindal (Selina Swindal) Five grandchildren: Kyler, Lilyana, JR, Kensley and Lydia Along with his companion and best friend Wendy Osborne. As well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and lifelong friends who adored him.
Aside from being the life of the party, Doug was the glue to his family and friends. A very simple man who loved the simple things in life. He loved cooking on the grill, playing bags, hosting bonfires and making everyone laugh that he loved. His biggest joy was being out on the water in what he called "Swindal Bay" with his kids, grandchildren or friends. No words will ever be able to describe how much he will be missed. His bright light will be embedded in all our hearts forever!!!!!
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 6915 Riverview Drive Riverview, FL 33578 from 6PM-10PM
