It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Albert Syvertson, age 75, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado on Saturday, March 16,2024. He was born in Arlington, WA. Throughout Doug's life, it was clear that his family was his first priority. He was the beloved husband & best friend of Kathleen (Mitchell) Syvertson for over 45 years.
Doug was the proud father of his son Eric Syvertson, his daughter Erin (Garcia), son-in-law Raymond Garcia and his daughter, the (late) Amanda Syvertson. He cherished his grandchildren Ally Garcia, Andrew Gelwick, Mitchell Garcia, Sophia Syvertson & Quinn Syvertson.
Doug is survived by his sister, Sydney Kingsbury, of Seal Beach, CA, brother-in-law the (late) Kermit Kingsbury and his brother, Martin Syvertson & sister-in-law Laura Syvertson of Bournmouth, England. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ole Syvertson and Margaret Leona Syvertson. Doug also leaves behind a large extended family and many beloved friends.
Doug was a proud Veteran & served in the US Army in Vietnam & was honorably discharged embodying the dedication & service throughout his life.
Doug's career journey began as a teenager busting tires in his brother-in-law's, Kingsbury Tire shop, in Long Beach, CA and over the years his hard work & passion propelled him to over a 50-year career in the automotive business, retiring as President from Midstates, Inc., Englewood CO.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
