Douglas H. Tenpas

Douglas H. Tenpas, age 95, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at noon. Burial will be held at a later date.
Doug was born on June 21, 1928, in Vesper, WI to John and Lona (Larson) Tenpas. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids and married Lillian Manz on February 25, 1950. They were married for 68 years before Lillian's passing in 2018.
Doug was employed by Consolidated Papers for 38 years, retiring as Maintenance Supervisor at the Kraft Division. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Doug enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, and riding his tractor to help neighbors plow snow. He also enjoyed cutting and harvesting wood with his brother, Lyle and long-time neighbor, Leo Van Ert. Doug built the family cottage in Butternut, Wisconsin and spent much of his time there.
Doug is survived by his children, Joel (Mary) Tenpas, Jane Tenpas Rosenthal, and Korey (JoAnn) Tenpas; granddaughters, Dana (Nick) Martin, Allison Tenpas, Kelsey (Adam) Fleischhacker, and Sidney Tenpas; great-grandchildren, Leah and Joel Martin, and Leona Fleischhacker; brother, Lyle (Ruth) Tenpas; sisters-in-law, Fern Tenpas and Barbara (Don) Tenpas; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian; brothers, Gordon (Ruby) Tenpas, Weldon (Barbara) Tenpas, Bruce Tenpas, and Donald "Cookie" Tenpas; son-in-law, Scott Rosenthal; and nephew, Steven Tenpas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doug's name to St. Paul's Lutheran FOCUS Food Pantry or McMillan Library Childrens Program.
The family would like to thank River Run Assisted Living and Edgewater Haven Nursing Home for the excellent care provided to Doug.
