Douglas Ray True, 75, husband of Pat True, died from complications of Parkinson's disease on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Bluegrass Community Hospital. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky on April 4, 1947 to Virginia Shrout True Wills, and the late Robert E. True. Doug graduated from Bryan Station High School in 1965. He served our country from 1966 to 1972 in the United States Army Reserves. In 1967 he began his career for IBM. Doug enjoyed family vacations, coaching soccer, mission trips, high school rodeo events, and trail rides. He was a lifetime member of the National Quarter Horse Association.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Virginia Wills, Winchester, his wife of 51 years, Pat True, Versailles, sons, Kevin True, Versailles, Jimmy (Kelly) True, Lancaster, brother, Danny (Janie) True, Winchester, four grandchildren, Paige, Wyatt, Austin, and Garrett.
Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the Bluegrass Community Hospital nursing staff in the emergency room, and the second floor for the quiet, respectful, and compassionate care given to Doug and his extended to his family during the last few hours of his life. To the Woodford County EMT's who assisted Doug numerous times during the last couple of weeks we say, "Thank You".
Graveside Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Woodford County Humane Society, PO Box 44, Versailles, Kentucky 40383. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and leave messages of condolence here on Doug's tribute wall.
