Douglas James Turner, 65, of Cincinnati OH passed away on May 9, 2025 at home with his family at his side. He was born in Cincinnati on December 20, 1959 to Jerome Turner and Beverly (Iasillo) Turner. He married Laura (Sunberg) Turner on April 16, 1994. She survives along with their son, Eric James Turner.
Doug lived in Cincinnati his entire life. He was a graduate of Colerain High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. A career as a mechanical engineer was a perfect fit given Doug's ability to solve technical problems. He enjoyed working on cars, electronics, and electrical projects. He was a lifelong learner.
During the early part of his career, he applied his skills at Litton Industries and Campbell Hausfeld. Later, he transitioned to the medical field, where he worked for Ethicon Endo-Surgery developing medical devices for minimally invasive and open surgical procedures.
Doug was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, and mentor to others. He was often relied upon for his advice and guidance and was known for his ability to extensively research and address almost any household repair, car problem, or computer issue. He had a quick, unexpected wit and sense of humor that will be remembered by family and friends for years to come.
In addition to his wife and son, Doug is survived by his brothers Daniel Turner (Linda) of Cincinnati and David Turner (Nancy) of Rapid City, SD, father-in-law Richard Sunberg, sister-in-law Tina Turner, nephews Matthew Turner (Mattie), Joseph Turner, Alex Turner and nieces Elise Baker (Sam), Shawna Turner and Trisha Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Turner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). A memorial service will follow at 11:00am. Inurnment will take place at 12:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
