Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home and CrematoryDr. Lawrence W. Costa, Jr., 75, of Ellwood City passed away at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler on Monday, August 18, 2025.
Born in Ellwood City on July 17, 1950, Lawrence was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Sarah Casuccio Costa. He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Voll whom he married on April 25, 1987. Lawrence had retired from his private practice as an internist in Sewanee, Tennessee in 2011. He was a member of the Ellwood SOI Lodge 608 and an avid fisherman.
Besides his wife, Nancy, Lawrence is survived by his 2 children, Lawrence W. Costa, III and Rini Soemarwoto of New York City and Samatha Nicole Costa and Colton Kennedy of Verona, PA, a sister, Christine Costa of Ellwood City and a brother, Dr. Marc Costa of West Virginia.
A Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be held at the Ellwood SOI Lodge 608 on Lawrence Avenue on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from Noon to 3:00 P.M.
Family suggests Memorial Contributions can be made in Lawrence’s name to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Hospital.
