Dr. Susan Menapace Delclos, age 64, from Galveston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Originally from Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest of six children of parents Dr. Francis Menapace and Kathryn Morrison Menapace. Following completion of her undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of Pittsburgh she returned there to obtain her Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics. Susan married Dr. Henry Delclos and relocated to Sugar Land, Texas. She was in private practice as an Orthodontic Specialist in Missouri City, Texas for over 20 years.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her current husband, Daniel Dundee, Galveston, Texas; her children: son, Julian Delclos and wife, Jennifer, Galveston, Texas; and three daughters: Chloe Delclos and husband Ray Clarage, Houston, Texas; Sofia Delclos and fiancé, Adam Hoot, Houston, Texas; and Adriana Delclos, College Station, Texas; siblings: brothers, Frank Menapace and wife Ada, The Villages, Florida; Dr. Joseph Menapace and partner Carol Radosevich, Placitas, New Mexico; and Dr. Michael Menapace and wife Melissa, Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania; sisters: Judy Haverty , The Villages, Florida; Kathy Alba and husband Dr. Fred Alba, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews from the extended Menapace and Delclos families.
Susan’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with family, friends, and pets, especially her beloved dog, Ryder. She loved being on the water, kayaking, fishing and birding. Susan was very involved with various activities at her church, Holy Family Parish in Galveston, volunteered at the Galveston Island Humane Society for many years and, more recently, with Galveston Island Meals on Wheels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Rev. Bernard Wamayose, A.J., Pastor as the celebrant. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor, with Transferal Prayers at 10:15 am and recitation of The Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 10:30 am. Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Divine Redeemer Church, 438 West Avenue, Mount Carmel, PA 17851, or to the charity of your choice.
