With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Louise Harrison Haeuser, a cherished mother, sister, and grandmother, who peacefully left this world on August 16, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on May 30, 1946, in Long Island, New York, Louise lived a life filled with love, creativity, and an enduring appreciation for beauty in all its forms.
Louise was a graduate of Irondequoit High School (Class of 1964) in Rochester, NY and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University. She later pursued her Master's in Art History at the State University of New York at Binghamton. At various points in her life, Louise called many places home-New York City, San Diego, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Center (TX), and San Antonio-each one adding a new layer to her story.
A gifted and prolific artist, Louise found joy in many creative forms over the course of her life, from woodcuts and ceramics to painting, watercolor, and Chinese brushwork. Her art wasn't just a form of expression; it was a way she connected with the world and those around her. Her creativity, warmth, and spirit left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know her or experience her work.
Beyond her artistic talents, Louise was a woman of love for God, love for her family, and curiosity about the world around her. She found delight in life's simple pleasures-reading mystery novels, experimenting in the kitchen, doing crossword puzzles, and, above all, spending time with her loved ones. In recent years, her happiest moments were those shared with her grandchildren-Maggie, Lena, and Jake-whom she adored beyond words.
Louise is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Amy and Ayoub Aloui, and Mandy and Mark Gandin, her sister, Marjorie Weiss, her sister and her husband, Connie and Larry Schott, and her grandchildren, Maggie, Lena, and Jake. She is also survived by Andy Scofield, a son she didn't get to raise but for whom she prayed every day, and his daughter Juliet.
She will be truly and forever missed.
In honoring her memory, we invite family and friends to gather for a celebration of her life Saturday, August 23rd at noon at the Faith United Methodist Church located at 2403 Rayford Rd, Spring, TX 77386
