Dr. Terry L. Mancini, age 76, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully on December 6, following a brief hospitalization at Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ernest and Marian (Filbert) Mancini. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita (Guzowski), as well as his two daughters, Kristin (wife of Peter Herbein) of Wyomissing and Kelly Burkman of Sinking Spring. He also leaves behind his brother, Dr. Ernest Mancini, of Northport, Alabama, and his wife Marilyn, sister-in-law Geraldine Seidel of Fleetwood and her husband Barry, along with four nieces. Terry cherished his five grandchildren—Alexa, Estella, Luke, Sofia, and Wyatt—who held a special place in his heart.
Terry graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School and West Chester University. Following college, he served as a Seargent in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma. He earned his Doctorate in School Administration from Lehigh University in 1990.
His career in education spanned over 30 years, beginning with the School District of Lancaster, where he served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent from 1973 to 1990. He then served as Superintendent of Brandywine Heights Area School District from 1990 to 1998, followed by his role as Superintendent of Upper Merion Area School District from 1998 until his retirement in 2005.
In his personal time, Terry was an avid hunter, enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail, and took pride in maintaining his swimming pool for family and friends. He was a dedicated member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. A Viewing will be Monday from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM, at the church. Entombment to follow with Military Honors at the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery. Edward J.
