Ronald Preston Shaner Jr.

Ronald Preston Shaner Jr., age 75, husband of the late Phyllis (Reinford) Shaner, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Pottstown Hospital. Born on March 27, 1950, he was a son of the late Helen (Tholan) and Ronald Preston Shaner Sr.

After graduating from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1968, Ron attended West Chester University and was a charter member of the Pi Mu Epsilon Fraternity. He spent many hours of his college years browsing record stores and attending concerts. He was a true music aficionado who also enjoyed movies and science fiction novels.

After obtaining his BA, he worked for Mrs. Smith's Pies for 27 years in Pottstown in their computing department. After being downsized, he worked for Vanguard until his retirement in 2012. Ron was a longtime member of Pughtown Baptist Church, where he served as the Financial Secretary. He also used his knowledge of computers to help maintain the church's website.

Ron is survived by two daughters: Laura M., wife of Nishon Yaghoobian, of Claymont, DE, and Amanda J. Shaner, of South Coventry; one son: Ronald Preston Shaner III, of Ambler; three grandchildren: Nishon Jr., Lia & Aram Yaghoobian; and siblings: Lisa Shaner, Lori Kolb and Todd Shaner. In addition to his loving wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Bonnie McMullen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Schwartz. Inurnment will be held privately in the Pughtown Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron's name to Renal Support Network, 1146 N. Central Ave. #121, Glendale, CA 91202 or at www.rsnhope.org.
