Duane Edward Wenzelow Sr. of Wausau, WI passed away peacefully in his home on August 12, 2025. He was 82 years old. Son of Rudolph Christian and Sybil Rose Wenzelow. Duane was born on September 19, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated in 1960 from Merrill High School, Merrill, WI. Duane enlisted with the U.S .Army, June 21, 1961 serving at Fort Leonardwood, MO. As Wheel Vehicle Mechanic at Fort Riley, KS. as Field Artillery Personnel. He ended his U.S. Army career as a Peace Time Veteran. He also worked at Brillion Iron Works in Brillion, WI and retired from there at the age of 58. Duane married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Tobias In Merrill, WI. They were married for over five decades. Duane loved spending time with his wife, four children, his father, sister and eight nieces and nephews, outdoors fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, processing maple syrup, gardening, picking berries and traveling.
Duane is survived by his wife and four children: Duane Jr.(Sarah) Wenzelow, Ralph Wenzelow, Lelond Wenzelow and Jackie Wenzelow; ten grandchildren: Kelsey (Jeremiah) Polk, Nicholas Wenzelow, Selena Flores, Alexander Shade, Joseph Klade, Christian Wenzelow, Brittney Wenzelow, Maitias Wenzelow, Sheila Fergein, Brandin Coey; seven great-grandchildren: Malakye, Christian, Estaria, Jaymason, Ann Marie, Walter and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Duane is preceded in death by his sister and Parents.
Visitation will be at Northwoods Vineyard Church, 418 Kaphaem Rd, Tomahawk WI at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30th. The Funeral Service will start afterwards at 11:00 with a meal to follow. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk, WI. at 2:00p.m. with Military Honors.
