Dudley was born June 26, 1943, in Haskell, Texas, the son of the late John Paul Perrin and Mary Eloise Toliver Perrin. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1961 then attended Cisco Junior College and McMurry University before returning to Haskell to farm alongside his father on the family farm. He was his dad’s right-hand man and was very knowledgeable of all farming operations. He was a dedicated member of the Cornerstone Baptist Fellowship Church where he faithfully assisted with the offering each week.

He had a deep love for singing the timeless gospel hymns from the Baptist hymnal. He found joy in playing card and board games, tackling crossword puzzles, and had an impressive knack for solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles. A dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, he also had an unwavering love for his family. He cherished spending time with his nieces and nephews, often reading with them and guiding them to succeed in their school activities. His affection for animals was undeniable, earning him the nickname "the dog whisperer."

Dudley was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Mary Eloise Perrin.

Dudley is survived by his brother, Wayne Perrin and Lynn of Lubbock, TX and two sisters, Lynda Rexrode Davis and David of Haskell, TX and Kathy Futch and Terry of Leander, TX; nieces Gena Rexrode of Pottsboro, TX, Alysia Smith and Casey of Lubbock, TX, Valerie Butts and Mac of Frisco, TX, and Amber Funderburgh and Sean of Leander, TX; nephews, John Mark Rexrode and Lisa of Sherman, TX, and Jeremy Futch and Marnie of Frisco, TX; 15 great nieces and nephews; 8 great-great nieces and nephews; numerous extended family and a host of dear friends.
