A rosary, led by Scott Meche, will be prayed in French at 7:00 pm Thursday.

Durphy "Duffy" Lee Domingue, a steadfast and loving presence in the lives of all who knew him, was born in Erath, Louisiana on March 9, 1948, to the late Ledier and Marie LeBlanc Domingue.

Duffy’s career in the oilfield industry spanned many years, showcasing his versatility and tireless work ethic; he dedicated his life to this field, transitioning seamlessly from machinist to heavy equipment operator. His colleagues admired not only his skills but also the strength he brought to every task. He was a tough man, indeed, yet his heart was always softened by the love he held for his family.

An embodiment of quiet strength, Duffy was known for being a soft-spoken man who devoted himself wholeheartedly to those he loved. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of his eye, and he cherished every moment shared with them. Whether he was sharing stories, teaching life lessons, or simply enjoying their company, Duffy’s heart brimmed with warmth for the younger generations of his family.

In addition to his family life, Duffy was a die-hard Saints Football fan. It was often said that his love for the team ran as deep as his love for his family. He was caught up in the thrill of the game, listening intently while wearing his heart on his sleeve, even during his final moments.

Mr. Domingue is survived by his loving wife, Rita Cabrol Domingue; sons, Todd Domingue (Vanessa), and Ross Domingue; grandchildren, Alexis Domingue Massey (Anthony), Madilyn Domingue, Colton Domingue, and Emily Young (and her mother, Erica Lovejoy); great-grandchildren, Marley and Kingston Collins, Dallas and Kolstyn Massey, and Carsyn Raymond; brother-in-law, Fred Meyers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Annie Lou Meyers, Helen Gaudin, Irby Domingue, and Nell “Sally” Domingue.

Pallbearers will be Todd Domingue, Colton Domingue, Olan Bourque, Kenneth Meyers, Blaine Meyers and Chad Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearers are Ross Domingue, Anthony Massey, and Kingston Collins.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana, especially Laura and Marcy; and to the ICU staff of Iberia Medical Center for extraordinary care and compassion.

Duffy will be profoundly missed, but his love will remain alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
