A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Russell Earl Turner, Jr. was born on December 5, 1953, to the late Russell Turner, Sr. and Victoria Nell Broussard Turner. A 1972 graduate of NISH, T-Boy carried the lessons and friendships from his school days throughout his life. In his younger years, he found joy and camaraderie in the great outdoors by hunting, fishing, and playing men’s softball, where he created cherished memories with friends and family.
Having dedicated over 51 years to the oilfield industry as a skilled welder, T-Boy ultimately retired from Burner Industries.
Russell had a special affection for his dogs, who brought him much joy and companionship. His bond with them was undeniable, reflecting his nurturing spirit and deep love for all living things.
T-Boy embraced life fully, relishing every moment spent with his family, whom he adored dearly. He will be deeply missed during those gatherings that he cherished.
Mr. Turner is survived by his children, Tiffany Turner Crochet; Tyler Broussard (Chancy); and Brandon “Brandi” Broussard; grandchildren, Blaise Lester, Gaige Lester, Esmae Broussard, Hunter Duhon, and Selina Duhon; sisters, Adrienne McCarthy (Rob), and Victoria Anne Turner; niece, Jacqueline McCarthy; and his beloved dog, Trampus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Kathleen “Kathy” Broussard.
T-Boy’s spirit will remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey. May he rest in peace.
