E. Frank Pusey Jr., 87, of Boca Raton, Florida and West Grove, Pennsylvania passed away at his home in Boca Raton on February 22, 2023.
Born February 1, 1936 in West Grove, Pennsylvania, Frank was a loving husband and father of three, grandfather of three, and great-grandfather of three. He will be lovingly remembered by Min, his beloved wife of sixty-five years, his loving children: Lori Douthat (Wendel); E. Frank Pusey III "Chip"; and Nathaniel "Than"; grandchildren: Hilary McNelis (Chris), Trevor and Karling; and, great-grandchildren: Benjamin; Logan; and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Frank Pusey Sr. and Lulu "Dolly" Watkin, and brother John Watkin Pusey.
Frank was a Birthright Quaker who for 27 years owned and operated Pusey Mushroom Farms in West Grove and Kelton, Pennsylvania and served as the Vice President of the American Mushroom Institute. He was a graduate of Sanford School and attended Goldey-Beacom college. He served in the United States Army for two years and the National Guard for five years following discharge. After retiring from the mushroom industry, he managed HVAC operations at the Hodgson Vocational Technical High School in Newark, Delaware. He served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Chester County Medical Center and the Brandywine Savings & Loan Association, and was Chairman of the London Grove Township Municipal Sewer and Water Authority. He served on both the Board of Trustees and the Board of Deacons at the Avondale Presbyterian Church and was active in the Lions Club. Frank had many interests including reading, finance, history, golf, bicycle riding, and spending time at the beach. He had a love for baseball and volunteered as a manager of the Avon Grove Little League.
Frank’s graveside service will be held at 9:00AM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at London Grove Friends Cemetery, 500 W. Street Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348. A reception will follow the service at the cemetery.
A Celebration of Life in memory of Frank was held in March in Boca Raton, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trustbridge Hospice Care https://trustbridge.com
