He is survived by his wife, Dawn, daughters, Sherri (Charlie) McGee of Belmont, NC, Colleen (Mike) Covington of Cramerton, NC, Jen (Adam) Dorr of Gurnee, IL, brothers, Chris (Linnea) Covington of Everett, WA, Bill (Connie) Covington of Queen Valley, AZ, sisters, Betty Covington of Queen Valley, AZ, and Carol (Matt) Simon of Venice, FL, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl was born December 2, 1942 in Berwyn, IL. He thoroughly enjoyed his profession as a carpenter and homebuilder. He loved the outdoors, especially camping with his family.
A celebration memorial will be held at Joyful Spirit Church on Saturday, November 4 at 10:30 AM, at 36325 N. Maple, Ingleside, IL, 60041. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joyful Spirit Church and the American Stroke Association.

Earl was my oldest brother and I adored him. When I was about 8 years old, I asked my mom to buy me a football. Money was kind of tight, (especially with 7 kids running around the house) and Earl bought me a Wilsom football, (official size and weight). I loved him so much for that. I slept with that football for 3 weeks.
In later years, when I was in my early 20's, Earl took me under his wing, and taught me a lot about carpentry. To this day I think I am a better structural engineer because of his mentorship.
Earl, I am sorry that I never told you that I loved you.
