With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Earl Edward Drumm, a beloved husband, father, and friend. Earl, born on January 27, 1940, in Lansing, Michigan, made his transition on June 7, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Earl lived his life epitomizing these values.
Earl was respected and admired for his tenacity, integrity, and pragmatic leadership. He was a man who understood the virtue of hard work and the importance of commitment. He married the love of his life, Shirley, on April 13, 1963, and together they built their life that was rich with laughter, mutual respect, and unconditional love. As the quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry goes, "Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction." Shirley and Earl embodied this sentiment throughout their journey together.
Earl leaves behind his adoring wife, Shirley, their devoted children Deanna, James, Lynette, Timothy, Amy, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many friends. Earl's life was a testament to the power of perseverance, the joy of love, and the beauty of living a life filled with purpose and passion. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who had the chance to know his generous spirit.
