Earl Randal Hayes (Randy), born on February 19, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Rittman, Ohio. Randy dedicated many years of his career to Akron City Hospital, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic.
A proud graduate of East High School, Randy served honorably in the U.S. Air Force following his graduation. This experience not only shaped his character but instilled in him a sense of discipline that he carried throughout his life.
Randy was known for his comedic sense of humor; those who had the privilege of knowing him invariably loved him. His personality was vibrant, making him a cherished friend and family member.
Randy was passionate about his hobbies. He was a skilled pool player, an enthusiastic hunter, and an avid golfer. He derived immense joy from watching NASCAR races, often sharing his insights and excitement with friends and family.
Above all, Randy lived for his daughters, Monique (Zac) Hoyt and Morgan Hayes, who were his proudest accomplishments. He is also survived by his son, Steven Laporta, and grandsons, Maverik and Asher, who were a source of great joy in his life. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Edie (George) Cadwell-Saad and Teri (Paul) Mazariego, along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Pearl Hayes, and his brother, Ronnie Hayes.
Visitation services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. He will be remembered not only for his commitments to his professional life but also for his deep affection for his family and friends.
