Gerald “Jerry” “Butch” Gifford, 80, of Uniontown, passed away on October 5, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on March 3, 1945, in Akron, Butch enlisted in the Navy in 1963 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the Naval Reserves in 1995. Butch also retired from his position as maintenance supervisor at Harwick Standard after 20 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Jenni Gifford, his loving wife of 45 years, Martine; sisters, Rose Krause and Martha Krause, father-in-law Donzil A. Hupp, and son-in-law Randy Goldinger. Butch is survived by his children, Denise Goldinger, Jerry (Olivia) Gifford, Teresa (Gene) Hesson, and Jana (Mike) Weaver; grandchildren, Laurie (Chris), Randy, Hannah, Harrison, Taylor, Nick (Lori), Camden, Samantha, and Madison; great-grandchildren, Zaidyn, Zhyler, Juliana-Amara, Alijah-Kade, Rowen-Valiena, Viridian-Lilith, Victoria, Niko, Ava, and Emmett; sister-in-law, Donna (Jack) Licause; and special friends, LaVonne and Danny Wise.
Butch was a master mechanic and could fix just about anything you threw at him. His passion for Harleys led him to rebuild at least four in his spare time. He enjoyed spending summers with his family in Canada on fishing trips, playing cards with friends, and grimacing with the Guardians and Browns. He will be loved and missed by all.
