Earl Neufer, a beloved member of the Charlotte community, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 94. He was born on July 31, 1931, in Homer, Michigan to Earl Sr. and Louise (Wilke) Neufer. Earl lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love.
He spent 35 years of his career at Aluminum Extrusions in Charlotte, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. After retiring from Aluminum Extrusions, Earl continued to work at Lansing MEPS for another 10 years, eventually retiring for good in 2000.
Earl was a family man at heart and often shared fond memories of his late wife, Myrna, who passed away in 2020. Their marriage of 67 years was a source of immense pride for him, and he cherished every moment they spent together.
Earl will be remembered for his warm personality. He never met a stranger and loved to visit with everyone he encountered. He was also an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers, always looking forward to watching their games from the comfort of his easy chair.
Earl Neufer leaves behind a legacy of kindness and friendship, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Earl is survived by his daughters: Debbie (Kyle) Harris of East Lansing, Kathy Gilding of Charlotte; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sister: Maxine Neufer; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Ron) Hanna, Louise Cousino; special family friends, Lily Sedlar and Dave Rooney; and his special neighbor, Andy Browning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrna in 2020; his son, Steve Neufer of Oklahoma; and his sister Dorothy.
In lieu of a graveside service, due to the cold winter temperatures and inclement weather, a committal service will be held at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrating. Burial will take place at Clarence Center Cemetery.
