Earl Winfrey Wynn, aged 85, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at his home in Pensacola, Florida. Born on May 5, 1940, in Elmore County, Alabama, to Iverson and Kate Wynn, he graduated from Wetumpka High School in Wetumpka, AL in 1958. Earl was a proud resident of Pensacola for over 50 years. He dedicated over five decades to his career as an electrical engineer.
Earl's greatest passions included his family, music, art, and his unwavering support for University of Alabama football. He shared his love for music with the community through his cherished record store, Remember Wynn Records. Many people may not realize he was a manager and head coach for the semi-pro baseball team, the Montgomery Rebels, in the 1960s, and carried a life-long love of athletics.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Susan Seale of Pensacola; his sister, June Chisum of Deatsville, AL; sons Earl Winfrey Wynn, Jr. ("Toby") of Pensacola, FL, Wendell "Scott" Wynn (Shannon) of Guntersville, AL; daughter Holly Wynn of Pensacola, FL; step daughter Tracy Winkles (Ray) of Grant, AL; five grandsons, Todd Wynn, Jacob Wynn, Jaremy Wynn, Jessie Wynn, and Asher Wynn; three granddaughters, Dallas Wynn, Kinsleigh Prescott, and Ellis Wynn; as well as numerous and adored nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring Earl's life at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, located at 7433 Pine Forest Rd., Pensacola, FL 32526, on Saturday, August 2nd.
