EARNESTINE "Tina" HARRELL
Earnestine "Tina" Harrell was born on October 08, 1948, to the late Joseph L. Nicholas and Cassie Lee Nicholas-Green in Washington, DC. Earnestine who was affectionately called "Tina" or "Teeny" by Family and Friends, spent most of her childhood in the Washington, D.C area. She attended Chamberlin Vocational High School, Prince George's Community College and the University of Maryland College Park. The family attended Charity Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J.J. Kearney. In 2017 Tina joined Zion Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Battle.
Tina's early employment included working as a Candy Stripe at Little Sister of the Poor and a Secretary for the Department of Health & Education. In January of 1968 she obtained a position at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC where she served for over 28 years within the Office of Space Science and Applications, Solar Physics Branch.
Tina was an avid Gardener and Bridal Coordinator and was famous for her Wedding and Pound Cakes. She was a Dance Instructor with Columbia Park Dance Group. She also enjoyed playing Spades and eating crabs with family as well as reading, decorating and modeling "Hats" with Hattitude Plus of which she was an active member.
She loved her family with all her heart and leaves to cherish her memory, her Husband William Earl Harrell, three Children, Fontella Johnson, Crystal Johnson and Stacy Johnson Avery (David); three Stepchildren, William Harrell, Tina Harrell and Kristopher "Krissy" E. Harrell (Truval Downey) Nine Grandchildren, Delonte Shingler, Daryian Johnson, Devin Thomas, Aysia Hunter, Sydnee Hunter, Nevaeh Avery, Serena Avery, Davitta Avery and D'Bria Avery; three Sisters, Vondeleah Johnson, Becky Nicholas and Peggy Mitchell; two Brothers, Willie Davis and Aaron Nicholas; six Brother-in-Laws, Maceso Johnson, Lonnie Johnson (Gail), Thomas Turner, Willie Harrell Jr. (Annie), Samuel Lee Harrell (Mamie) and James Ray Harrell (Wendy); four Sister-in-Laws, Mary Johnson, Mamie Cooper (Eddie Ray), Mary Harrell and Marion Jones; special friends Zee and Barbara as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased in death by her Parents, Joseph and Cassie Nicholas, Sisters Darlene Nicholas, Martha Ann Williams and Katherine Nolan, Brother Freddie Brown and Sister-in-laws Ann Johnson, Connie Johnson and Jackie Turner.
