Elder Eartha Yarrell, was born on November 10, 1964, to Susan Bing and Walter Ray in Williston, South Carolina before moving to
Newark, NJ in the early to mid-70's. Elder Eartha entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 4, 2025 in her newly adopted home town of Albany, Georgia. Elder Eartha's early formal education was in
Newark, New Jersey, where she attended 18th Avenue Elementary School, West Kinney Junior High, and Central High School. In the 1985, Eartha fell in love with her childhood friend Deacon Keith A. Yarrell, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on August 17, 1985. In 1990, Eartha welcomed her beloved son, Quintin Yarrell, and in 1994 her cherished daughter, Chloe Yarrell. Their love and commitment to each other continued to grow, and they joyfully renewed their vows on their 20th wedding anniversary August 13, 2005.
Elder Eartha started her spiritual journey worshipping at Greater Providence Baptist Church. Then moved onto Greater Grace Fellowship Church where she served under the leadership of Pastor Hilton Rawls, Jr. before graduating Phenuma Life School of Ministry. On November 18, 2007, Eartha became a minister in training at Greater Grace Fellowship Church in
Newark, New Jersey. In 2013, Elder Eartha, Deacon Keith and family joined and served under the leadership of Bishop Hilton Rawls, Sr and First Lady Amanda Rawls. In 2015 Elder Eartha and her husband Deacon Keith joined and served on the ministry staff of Greater Shiloh Church in Easton, PA before officially being ordained as an elder in 2019 under the leadership of Pastor Philip Davis and First Lady Kristina Davis. Elder Eartha lived her faith openly and boldly - a true servant of God. Eartha will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, her joyful humor, and her gift for uplifting and motivating everyone around her. She was a devoted wife and mother, a wise elder and mentor, and a cherished friend to so many. Her life was a shining example of kindness, strength, and grace.
Elder Eartha worked for over 10 plus years with Prudential in downtown Newark. Elder Eartha spent a remarkable 15-year tenure as a teacher's assistant with the Newark Board of Education at John F. Kennedy School and Hawthorne Avenue School where she spent making a positive impact with students, teachers and friends alike. In 2018, Elder Eartha embarked on a new venture, becoming a successful business owner of Eartha Unique Boutique and "Bling Boss" with Paparazzi Jewelry and Accessories. Her love, kindness, and generosity inspired all who knew her and viewed her on a weekly basis.
Elder Eartha is survived by her loving husband, Deacon Keith Yarrell; children, Quintin Yarrell and Chloe Yarrell; grandchildren, Nylah Yarrell, A'Nova, Kehlani, and Sebastian Yarrell; mother, Susan Bing; sisters, Diane Bing, Brenda Bing, and Sandra Bing; father Walter Ray, mother-in-love Bernice Ray, brother Dennis Ray, sister-in-law Rebecca Ray; mother-in-law Ellen Yarrell; sisters-in-love Elder Penny Jones, Anne Marie Yarrell, Simone Yarrell, and Crystal Leary, and a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and church family.
Elder Eartha was preceded in death by her grandparents Joe Bing and Carrie Bing, Charles Ray Jones and Gertrude Ray, and brother Charles Ray, father-in-law John Yarrell, Jr., brother-in-law Henry Anthony Yarrell, Margaret Taylor.
Rest in peace, Elder Eartha. Your love and memory will be cherished forever.
