Ecenia Laboy, born on October 8, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Brooklyn, Ohio. A beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Ecenia's life was filled with love and joy, shared with her family and friends.
Ecenia was the cherished daughter of Blanca Rivera and the late Hermogene Laboy. She was the beloved granddaughter of the late Carmen Rivera, whom she lived with for over 40 years and she loved very dearly. She was adored by her devoted siblings, Lupe Laboy (deceased), Maria Garcia, David Laboy (deceased), Juanita Laboy, Minnie Laboy (deceased), Nellie Seminatore and Hermogene Laboy, Jr., who were a significant part of her life.
Ecenia had a vibrant spirit that shone brightly through her passions. She had a deep affection for Michael Jackson and embraced the joy of dance, often captivating her family with her energetic performances. Inspired by a love for the Pink Power Ranger, Ecenia displayed a spirited enthusiasm throughout her life. She found a special place in her heart for singing and dancing, activities she adored sharing with her family, creating cherished memories that will last forever.
Ecenia’s legacy will live on through her many nieces and nephews, who will remember their aunt as a source of inspiration, laughter, and love. Her warm presence, infectious laughter, and spirited nature will be missed by all who knew her.
As we reflect on Ecenia Laboy's life, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose joyful energy and love for life impacted everyone around her. She leaves behind a family united in shared memories and love, honoring her spirit in all they do.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
