Ed Mascola, of Higganum, died suddenly on November 29, 2025. The son of Leslie Muzzi Mascola and Gary Broccoli, Ed was born in New Haven on October 1, 1975. He also leaves his sister Kimberly Mascola, brother Domenic (Cathleen) Broccoli, nephew Michael Broccoli, Sr., his furbaby Samantha, and his beloved family of aunts and uncles including Susan Jayne and Ron Simonelli, Andrea and Ken Ahearn, John and Lisa Muzzi,and cousins Yvonne, Christopher, John, Catherine, Ronnie, Karla, John and Michael, Mia, Rocco, Vincenzo, Lorenzo and Adriana. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents John and Lena Muzzi.

A kid at heart, Ed never lost his love of life and its' adventures. He and Domenic went on many road trips including Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; West Virginia; and locally to the Mohegan Sun Casino. Ed also enjoyed family vacations with his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and watching all sports - baseball as his favorite. Ed took care of Samantha on a daily basis, administering medication to her through her latest illness.

Visiting hours will take place on Friday December 5, 2025, at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green from 10 am to noon. A prayer service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Change a Life Dog Rescue,9 Ridge Rd., East Haddam, CT 06423 or changealifedogrescue.org.
