Louis P. Mascola, 62, of East Hanover, New Jersey passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on October 24, 2024.
Beloved Husband of 33 years to Geralynn Tancredi Mascola – Louis P. is survived by his loving children Louis G. Mascola and his wife Michelle, Angelo Mascola, and Genera Mascola; by a brother Dominick Mascola, and a sister Nancy Halpern and by his mother-in-law Eleanor Tancredi. He is predeceased by his parents Nancy Caputo Mascola and Louis D. Mascola, his sisters Antoinette Ryan and Valerie Mascola, and his daughter Noelle Mascola.
Louis was born in Newark, NJ and was the proud owner/operator of his commercial printing business, Dynamic Printing & Graphics, for over 40 years. He attended Frank H. Morrell High School in Irvington, NJ, and later studied at Columbia University.
He was a health and fitness fanatic who took great pride in exercising and eating healthy every day since the age of 12. He was a kind and generous man who loved his friends and family dearly, and set a world-class example for how to take care of your body.
He took great pride in maintaining his home, and when he wasn't at the gym, he could be found enjoying and improving the oasis he built for himself and his family in his beautiful backyard filled with blooming flowers and plants year-round.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27th from 12:00-2:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am on Monday, October 28th at St. Rose of Lima Church 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Entombment will be at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
A proud and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many - Louis will always be remembered as a staple of health, as well as his most famous phrase when out to dinner with friends – "May I make a suggestion?"
In lieu of flowers, his family requests plants that can be planted in his backyard, or donations to Columbia University Irving Medical Center for Glioblastoma research.

Throughout our lives, we cross paths with countless individuals. On rare occasions, the intersection evolves into a lasting friendship that genuinely enhances your life. I am fortunate to have crossed paths with Lou. Among the many lessons Lou imparted, the two that stand out the most for me are perhaps best captured by the words of the legendary college basketball player/coach/broadcaster Jimmy Valvano: Lesson No. 1: "To me, there are three things we all should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think -- spend some time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day." And Lesson No. 2: "Don't give up. Don't ever give up." God bless and rest peacefully, my dear friend.
