Eddie Howard Moore Sr.

Eddie Howard Moore, Sr was born to Sultan Moore, Sr and Lucilla Watts on September 22, 1947 in Montgomery, Alabama. Both of his parents preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Marshall Moore and Sultan Moore, Jr.

Eddie professed Christ at an early age. He was ordained as a minister in March 1998 and was a faithful servant who loved teaching and preaching the Word of God. 

After relocating to Kansas City, Missouri, he attended the Kansas City Public School system and earned his diploma from Central High School in 1967. He met and married the love of his life, Alma Deloris Moore. They lived in holy matrimony for 56 years until she passed in August 2025. Eddie was a devoted husband and caring father and worked tirelessly to provide for Alma and their three boys. In his early years, he worked as a short-order cook and a custodian. He retired from Jackson County Juvenile Center after many years of loyal service. Eddie loved playing Chess and Dominoes and talking about the Lord. He also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his three sons, Eddie, Jr (Pamela) of Kansas City, Missouri, David (Yatasha) of Nolensville, Tennessee, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Missouri, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, Carl Moore, three sisters, Helen McClellan, Jacqueline Suffren, and Lucilla Miller, one best friend, Cleo Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2025 at The Mount Church, 1800 E. 79th St., Kansas City, MO 64132. The visitation will begin at 10:00, the service will follow at 11:00am.
