Eddie Ray Phillips, age 47 years, of the Smithtown Community died Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 19, 1976 the son of Eddie Lee and Penny (Gregory) Phillips. Eddie had worked as a logger and was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. Playing cards, games, riding his motorcycle, and playing with is grandbaby were his enjoyments in life.
His father, Eddie Lee Phillips; grandparents, Elmer and Audrey Gregory and Skyler and Ona Phillips; sister, Tracy Phillips (Ricky Longmire); uncle, Elmer Troxell (Evelyn); and aunt Patsy Keith (Jr.) precede him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Penny Phillips of Stearns, Kentucky; son Johnathan Phillips (Makayla) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; grandchildren, Phoenix Phillips and 1 on the way; sisters, Buffy Clark (Justin) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky and Jo Ann Phillips of Stearns, Kentucky; aunts and uncle, Elvrlie Strunk, Denny Gregory (Amy), and Charlene Cook; nieces and nephews, Doug Clark, Courtney Clark, Kylie Clark, Nick Longmire (Sydney), Brandon Longmire (Taylor), Tyler Longmire (Hannah), and Angel Longmire (Nathan); and special friends, Troy and Daniel Watson and Dickie Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Tapley officiating. Burial to follow in the Keith Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
