Edna Burt Hubbard, 90, of Forsyth County passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. Edna was born in Dawson County on September 14, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Burt and Carrie Bishop Burt of Dawsonville: husband, Herman Hubbard of Forsyth County; sisters, Maudie Robertson, Ethel Odom, Betty Stripland; brother, Edwin Burt; her granddaughter Amy Fields.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Patsy Odom Brookshire and her partner, Stan Estes of Forsyth County; son, Bobby Fields; sister, Peggy McGehee; brother, Billy Burt and his wife Dian; grandson, Cody Brookshire and his wife Brittany; granddaughter, Suzanna Brookshire and her partner Alex Hoffman; grandson, Joseph Fields and his wife Brittany; great grandchildren, Terrance "T" Hand and Jayden Fields; former son-in-law, Douglas Brookshire and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edna was a great storyteller who loved sharing tales of growing up in rural Dawson Country. She was a devoted parent and grandparent who loved to cook for them. She loved to read and engaged in many crafts such as painting and sewing. For many years, Edna and her husband Herman enjoyed an active social life with friends in their cabin community in Suches, Georgia. She loved going out with her friends and collecting antiques and she was also an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her tomatoes and flowers. In her later years, she loved watching the local wildlife that she would often feed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor can be made to the Dawson County Humane Society, www.dawsoncountyhumanesociety.org or the Forsyth County Humane Society, www.forsythpets.org .
