Edna Jean Rucker, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 29, 1933, to the late Stanley Goins and Julia Turner, Edna lived a life dedicated to her family and her craft as a professional seamstress. She retired from Dillard's and Sher's Bridal, where she was known for her skilled work and attention to detail.

Edna was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family. She was a member of Beechland Baptist Church, where her faith guided her through life’s joys and challenges. Edna's love for her family was evident in her role as a mother to her daughters, Carol Jean Thompson (Dale), Cathy Allison (Gary), and Paula Raye Clem (John); and her son, Melvin Bruce Rucker (Lisa). She was blessed with five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Edna now joins her husband, Raymond Rucker, in heaven, along with her grandson Matthew Thompson, and two great-grandchildren, Blake Thompson and Benjamin Clem. Her loving spirit, devotion to her family, and dedication to her faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Visitation for Edna will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with burial immediately afterward.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Beechland Baptist Church Building Fund and Coins for Christ, causes close to Edna’s heart.
