Edna Thomas

Edna Kay (Blevins) Thomas, born on April 27, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at WVU Medicine - Wheeling Hospital. She was 76 years old.

Edna dedicated many years of her professional life as an administrative assistant for the Vice President of Academics at West Virginia Northern Community College. Her meticulous work and supportive nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to work with her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Edna cherished her role as the heart of her family. She found immense joy in cooking large meals for family gatherings, where she created countless cherished memories. The moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to her heart.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Marie Stillwell; her grandmother, Norma R. Stillwell; her mother-in-law, Betty E. Thomas; and her daughter-in-law, Melissa L. Zucco.

Edna is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald L. Thomas of Wheeling, WV; her loving daughter Kelly (Robert) Wade of Glen Dale, WV; her sons Rod Zucco and Derek Scott Thomas, both of Wheeling. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Megan (Jed) Lucey of Cameron, WV, Brittany (Jordan) Dent of St. Albans, WV, Destinie (Shane) Magers of Pickerington, OH, Haley Wade (Dustin Sauriol) of Glen Dale, WV, Gina (Nathan) Suchy of Johnston, OH, Ronald Gino Zucco of Wheeling, and Luis Aidan Wade of Glen Dale. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren: Cali, Kaylee, Charlie, Grace, and Korey of Cameron, WV; Rileigh, Macie, and Willow of Pickerington, OH; and Olivia and Sophia of Johnston, OH.

According to Edna's wishes, there will be no public visitation. The family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering at a future date to honor her memory.

Edna will be remembered for her loving spirit, her dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
