LeLane Wood, age 74, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 8, 2025.

LeLane was born on March 17, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas, to William Leroy Waldrop and LaLene Dodson. A proud Texan through and through, she carried a deep love for her family, her community, and the simple joys of life.

LeLane had a special knack for finding hidden treasures at garage sales, often bringing items home, lovingly restoring them, and reselling them with care. She had an inquisitive spirit and believed in being informed—always researching before speaking. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who poured her love into every relationship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Leroy Waldrop and LaLene Dodson.

She is survived by her beloved son Aaron Wood and his wife Mary, and her cherished grandson Reid. She is also survived by her siblings: Johnny Ralph Waldrop, William Leroy Waldrop, Stephen Lee Waldrop, and Tonya Nanette Blessing.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Ballinger in LeLane’s honor—reflecting her love for compassion and care.

LeLane’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
