It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Daniel, a man of wisdom, great strength, and unwavering guidance. On March 27, 2025, Ed went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Ed was born at home and grew up in Baker County Georgia and lived all his life in Georgia. Ed met the love of his life, Janice, forty-one years ago and together they built a beautiful, large family and community of friends. They were a shining example of a blended family. Ed relished the role of husband, father, grandpa and most recently great-grandpa. He was a persistent teacher of his fishing methods, recipes he had perfected and was always full of clever sayings; or as we called them Edisms. If you ever met Ed, you heard one of these Edisms. Ed was so proud of his family, and we will hold dear the stories that we will share with his great grandchildren and their children. His legacy will live on in all those who knew him.
After graduating from Damascus high school Ed joined the Air Force and rose to the rank of flight crew chief. He joined so that he could travel the world. The Air Force sent him to Paris, Texas for bootcamp and then he got stationed in Warner Robins Georgia. He just couldn’t get out of Georgia and Georgia was better for it.
Ed worked as an Industrial Electrician at many companies; Firestone, GM, and Keebler. He was always a staunch advocate for those around him. With both his work with the Union and in his personal life.
Ed’s spirit and family traditions will be carried on by his wife, Janice; their children, Edward J. Daniel, Jr. (Marni), daughter, Olivia, Jeff Daniel, Beth Kendrick (Kevin), sons, Ryan and Jacob, Leslie Williams (Tad), son, Evan, and daughters, Ashlyn and Aaren, Kim Britt (Robby), sons, Kayton and Colin, and daughters, Kaylee and Kelsey, and his great grandchildren Kynedi, Luke, and Hayden.
Ed was the third son of eight children of Thomas C and Margeret Daniel. He was preceded in death by his middle son, Christopher Michael Daniel, brother, John Daniel, sister, Sheryl Stephens, brother, Jack Daniel and is survived by brother, Perry Daniels, sister, Sue Sheffield, brother, Greg Daniel, and sister, “Iggy” Lynn Haddock.
To honor Ed’s memory, a memorial service will be held at McCullough Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at 417 S Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
