Edward W. Deissler, affectionally known as "Popsin", passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 98 years of age and resided in Richboro living formerly in North Wales and Northeast Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Deissler and a beloved husband for 65 years of Jane M. (nee: Daniels) who sadly passed away on February 14, 2014. He was a loving and devoted father to his son Jeffrey P. and his wife Kim and he cherished his granddaughters, Alyssa Walker and her husband Doug and Kaitlyn Deissler and her fiancé Rocco Spadaccino. He adored his great grandchildren Calder and Cole Walker.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence (the late Lucille), Stephen, Elizabeth Quintavalle (the late William) and Joseph (the late Mary). He is also survived by his nephews and their families.
In addition to his Military time serving in the US Coast Guard, Ed valued his employment with both the School District of Philadelphia and the Federal Government. During his time with the Federal Government, he worked at various locations including The Philadelphia Navy Yard, Federal Building in Philadelphia, and the Willow Grove Naval Air Base.
Ed's main leisure activity was Golf, which he enjoyed with his wife Jane, Jeff and his various friends.
Ed most of all cherished his time with his family and especially his granddaughters and great grandsons.
In their younger years, Ed and Jane loved traveling with a group of family and friends that included Joe & Mary Deissler, Jim & Madeleine Campbell and Matt & Barbara Judge.
Ed and Jane also enjoyed their various visits to local Casinos where they played slots and enjoyed trying to win the Jackpots.
Ed was loved by all who knew him. He touched many with his incredible positive spirit and fun sense of humor. We will miss his smile, kindness and gentlemen ways. He always put his needs aside and put his family first. He loved his family and took great pride in everything he did.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 9:45AM until the celebration of his funeral service 11:15AM at Campbell and Thomas Funeral Home, 905 Second Street Pike, Richboro. Interment with Military Honors, to recognize his service in the United States Coast Guard, will take place in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown beginning promptly at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor and memory to The Tunnels to Towers Foundation would be appreciated by his family. Donation information may be found in the Memorial Contribution section below.
