Cumberland, MD- Edward "Ed" Claude Dillon, Sr., 86, of Cumberland, MD passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Transition Healthcare.
Born June 22, 1937 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Dillon was the son of the late William Thomas Dillon and Dolores Ann (Waters) Dillon. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Dolores Hite; a brother: William Dillon; a granddaughter: Alyssia Cage; and a grandson: Dennis Dillon; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Ed attended Grafton High School and graduated from Fort Hill High School Class of 1955. He retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish.
Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne (Mathews) Dillon; his children: Edward Dillon, Jr and wife Terry; Jeffrey Dillon and wife Tami; Matthew Dillon and wife Kristen; Robert Dillon; Dennis Dillon and wife Leslie; Carol Keller and husband Christopher; Carla Carannante and husband Patrick; Brian Dillon; and Patricia Hosfelt and husband Timothy; as well as 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, Church of St. Patrick, 201 N. Centre Street, Cumberland, MD on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
