Edward W. Dziura

Southbridge: Edward W. Dziura, 93, of Crestview Dr., passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, Jan. 26th, after an illness.
His beloved wife of 63 years, Laurette T. (Cloutier) Dziura died in 2018. Edward leaves his two sons, William Dziura and his wife Pamela of Lakeville and Michael Dziura of Shrewsbury; his three daughters, Lynn Rasys of Tampa, FL, Cheryl Dziura-Duke of Woodstock, CT, and Karen Dziura and her significant other, Geoffrey Rich of Webster; and his seven grandchildren, Lauren Menendez, Ryan Rasys, Daniel Massei, Jeffrey Dziura, Sandhya Dziura, Amanda Dziura and Nathan Dziura; four cherished great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Dziura and three sisters, Wanda Stolgitis, Nellie Wielblad, Stephanie Lovell and his son-in-law, Dwight "Bill" Duke.
Edward was born in Southbridge the son of Wincenty and Helen (Slota) Dziura. He graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Navy serving honorably during the Korean War. Edward worked for over 40 years as an accountant for the American Optical company in Southbridge prior to retiring.
Ed had simple joys that made him happiest. He loved fishing, growing a vegetable garden, working in his yard, vacationing in Maine and Florida, smoking cigars, indulging in ice cream and lobster, and, most of all, being surrounded by his family. At big family gatherings, he would sit back in his chair, quietly smiling, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren fill the room with life.
A funeral service for Edward will be held on Monday, Feb.3rd at 10:00 am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Sturbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2nd, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
