George F. Trombley

Southbridge: George F. Trombley, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 19th, after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

He leaves his partner of 45 years, Catherine Doucette; his daughter, Lynda Garieri and her husband Scott of Sturbridge; his grandson, Eric Curboy of Wales; his two step grandchildren, Alexandria O'Brien of Sturbridge and Christopher Garieri of Charlton; his two brothers, William Trombley and Robert Trombley, both of Florida; longtime friend, Larry Marcotte of Southbridge; five great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, John F. Trombley in 2021. He was born on May 22, 1938 in Southbridge the son of George F. and Helen (Czyzewski) Trombley. George was a US Navy Veteran and served 4 years as an Electricians Mate.

George worked as an electrician for MassDOT for many years, retiring many years ago. He was also a former part owner of T Tool & Die. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating and summers on Cape Cod. He looked forward to football season as an avid New England Patriots fan.

The family would like to thank nurses Holly and Samantha from Brookhaven Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.

George's funeral will be held on Monday, August 25th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Monday, August 25th, from 9:30 to 10:30am, prior to the Mass. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
