Edward C. Gordon, 94, lifelong resident of Mentor, died on September 30, 2025 at the Enclave of Newell Creek. He was born on May 26, 1931 in Cleveland and was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church. He married Marian E. Brethour on April 1, 1950 and they shared 64 years together. Ed was in the U.S. Navy Reserves for four years and was a house builder with his dad prior to his dad's passing in 1968 and transitioned to building a commercial lime manufacturing plant in 1960. He stayed on a plant manager and expanding it when Republic Steel/LTV took over. He retired in 2000 for a short time until he operated a Huron Lime Plant in Huron, Ohio with a friend until March of 2016.

He is survived by his children, Edward (Sue) Gordon of Perry, Diane (Robert) Fetch of Grand River; Vicki (Patrick) Brennan of Concord, and Cindy (Michael) Day of Eastlake; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and good friend, Phyllis Gavel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Mary (nee: Crowley) Gordon; his wife, Marian E. (nee: Berthower) Gordon, and siblings, Beverly Kurth and Rodney Gene Gordon.

Private family services will be held at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
