Edward McFarland "Sonny" Jessee

EDWARD "SONNY" McFARLAND JESSEE, 86, of Fern Creek, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Born in Edmondson, KY, on January 12, 1939, to Ruth McFarland Jessee and Eulis Jessee, Jessee lived a full and joyful life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later retired from Neil Laveil and Truck Pro.
Jessee was a devoted father and grandfather whose laughter and spirit lit up every room. He loved to tell jokes, share stories, and spend time outdoors as an avid hunter and sportsman. He cherished his work family at Truck Pro and his close friend and hunting buddy, Mark Hood.
Above all, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean Jessee; his parents, Ruth and Eulis Jessee; his sister, Louise Gillis-Jessee; and his brothers, Mickey Turpak and Tommy Turpak.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Bernice Cress (Bob); son, Bob Alvey (Renea); grandchildren, Heather Blackburn (Chris), Brad Porter (Rachel), Emalyne Robinson (Jason), Zack Alvey (Maegan), Jake Alvey (Elise), Blake Alvey, Emma Alvey, Dezire Gartland, and Destiny Gartland; great-grandchildren, Chase Blackburn, Ira Alvey, Rowan Jessee Porter, and John Alvey; and his sister, Terri Turpak. Jessee will also be fondly remembered by a wide circle of extended family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Visitation to celebrate Jessee's life will be held from 2–8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Road. His funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Ratterman Chapel, with burial and military honors to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, KY.
