Edward J Nemecek

Edward J. Nemecek, 90, of Lorain, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Lorain Mercy Hospital. He was born April 24, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio to his late parents Edward and Rosella Nemecek.
Ed was born and raised in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School. He received his degree in journalism from Kent State University and was employed at the Lorain Journal for several years. Ed later joined Ford Motor Company at the Lorain Assembly Plant and held various management positions in the Industrial Relations Department, retiring after 27 years of service.
Ed was an avid amateur radio operator with the call letters K8GIM. He was also interested in music, gardening, and doting on his pets. Ed was a member of the American Radio Relay League, Fraternal Order of Police Associates, National Rifle Association, and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church where he served as an usher. Ed also played clarinet and saxophone in the Patriots Symphonic Band, the Vermilion Community Concert Band, the Lorain County Community College Civic Concert Band, and the Lorain Community Music Theater Orchestra.
Ed is survived by his daughter Diane Grunick of Avon Lake; grandchildren Adam (Kari), Aaron, Alex, and Anna; twin great-grandsons Hudson and Greyson; and a very special friend.
