Daniel A. Frederick, 66, was born on August 3, 1956 in Fremont, Ohio and was sent to his eternal home on August 16, 2022 in North Carolina after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved son of Patricia and James Frederick.
Dan loved being involved in Cub Scouts Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout in 1971. He graduated from Clyde high school in 1974. A graduate from Kent State University in 1978 with an interest in architecture. While at Kent State, he was involved with ROTC and honor guard. After college Dan pursued officer training with the US Army. He was stationed in South Korea and Germany to name a few. Dan climbed the ranks and was promoted to Captain in 1983. In 1990 Dan received an honorable discharge from the US Army. He continued to work with the US Army as a civil servant in Germany until his retirement in 2018 and returned to the United States.
Those who knew Dan will remember him for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and adventure, for travel. He had many friends and one of his strong attributes was not judging others. It brought him joy to share his love of travel with his family members with adventures to black forest region throughout Europe and Hawaii. Many cherished memories and laughs.
Dan will be greatly missed by his loving sister Deborah (Greg) Coleman. Nieces and nephew Veronica Coleman, Marisa Hughes, Aaron (Angela) Coleman, & a great niece Inara Hughes. Uncle & aunts Donald, June and Jeanette Goetz. Many treasured cousins. Dan was proceeded in death by grandparents Harold and Crete Goetz, Don and Helen Frederick, aunt and uncles Barbara Sams, Robert Goetz and Richard Goetz
A military ceremony and celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on August 16, 2025 at the Chestnut Grove cemetery Bradner, Ohio. Please join family and friends after services for sharing and potluck lunch at Wayne United Methodist Church Wayne, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local American Legion in Gibsonburg and Bradner in remembrance of Dan.
