Edward P. Palladino passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital on August 8th. He was 88. Raised in Revere, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Cantalupo) Palladino.
Eddie lived his whole life with enthusiasm and dedication. A proud member of the 1959 graduating class at Merrimack College, Ed also served in the Army National Guard. He embarked on a successful career as a business machine salesman, first with Addressograph-Multigraph Co and then later with the computer industry giant, IBM. Later in life, he sold insurance for Mass. Mutual. Throughout his life, music was his passion and avocation. A talented singer and musician, he led his own band, Ed Palladino and Preferred Sound. With his Cordovox accordion he entertained generations at weddings, parties, Bar Mitzvahs, dinners, restaurants and at rest homes. He served as President of the New England Professional Musicians Assoc., and was member of the Arlington Retired Menâ??s Club and the Singing Grandpops. As he eased into retirement, he continued to play on his own and to drive limousines. His boundless energy kept him close to his family and especially to his grandchildren, never missing a game or event. He led his family in Christmas carols on the Accordion and kept in shape by taking long walks. A fan of all Boston sports teams, Ed was a particularly vocal fan of the Red Sox, whether in the grandstands at Fenway or on the living room couch. And he always loved a good meal.
Ed was the beloved husband of the late Tina A. (Lemmi) Palladino, who passed away in 2021. He was a devoted father to Stephen Palladino and his wife Maureen of North Andover, Richard Palladino and his wife Lisa of Franklin and devoted stepfather to Carol Caraviello and her husband Richard of Medford, Mark Bonaccorsi and his wife Patricia of Venice, FL, and the late Bruno Bonaccorsi. He was a loving grandfather to Richard, Lauren, Nicole, Jonathan, Tyler, Trevor, Kevin, Kyle, Kaylee, Anthony, and Daniella. He was a loving great grandfather to Gianna, Joseph, Richard, Nicholas, Giuliana, Isabella, James, Michael, and Emma. He was the brother of Michael Palladino and his late wife Eileen of Peabody, and Jean Wollam and her husband Gary of Big Canoe, GA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, August 15 from 9 â?? 11 AM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edâ??s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development/ The Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
