Edward "Big Ed" Pugh, age 91, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully, in his home, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born January 11, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH to David and Gladys Pugh. Ed was a 1952 graduate of Louisville High School. He was an Army Veteran; he retired from the Ford Motor Co. in 1991 and then continued working at his sons Chick-Fil-A Restaurants for many years.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Berdine (Krabill) Pugh in 2013; two sisters, Kathryn (John) Shearer and Virginia (Richard) Blum; two brothers, Ralph (Helen) and Ken Pugh. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Pugh; son, Doug (Laurly) Pugh; a sister, Dolores Zimmerly; a brother, Dean (Bobbi) Pugh; four grandchildren, Zachary, Derek, Mitchell and Natalie; sister-in-law, Tommi Pugh and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Hospice and especially his caregivers, Rachael, Adreanna, Tanya, Tina, London and Tavaisa.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Calling hours will be 4-6pm Thursday June 12 and 1 hour before services on Friday morning at the funeral home. Ed will be laid to rest, beside his wife, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ed Pugh Scholarship funds at either the Louisville Athletic Booster Club or R.G. Drage.
