Edward Michael Sneed, Sr., passed away on October 14, 2024 at the age of 85. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ed's journey through life was marked by devotion to his family and service to his country.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ida Sneed of Wentzville, Missouri; his four children, Edward (Mary) Sneed, Jr. of Wentzville, MO, Patrick (Ashley) Sneed of Wentzville, MO, Christine (Kurt) Mollet of Weldon Springs, MO, Timothy Sneed of Wentzville, MO; sister, Patricia Adelmann of O'Fallon, MO; nine grandchildren, Savannah, Josie, and Carter Sneed, Emily, Nicholas, Nathan, and Katherine Mollet, and Anna and Joseph Sneed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Loretta Sneed, son, William Sneed, siblings, Rosemary Pitezel, Catherine Killoren, Joseph Sneed, Betty Ann Byrnes, and Loretta Steenbergen.
After serving eight honorable years in the U.S. Navy, Ed dedicated 25 years as a proud and skilled Ironworker with Local 396. His involvement with the Moose Lodge 1513 in St. Charles, MO, reflected his community spirit.
Even in his 80's, Ed managed his own stock portfolio and encouraged his grandkids to get involved in the stock market as well. He was always willing to debate which stocks were going to be the best buys. He kept his mind sharp by educating himself prior to his buys and trades.
Ed was an invested grandpa, and he always looked forward to the next family gathering and visits from the grandkids.
Ed enjoyed a good round of golf any chance the weather allowed, and many great times were had with family and friends out on the golf course. And if he wasn't playing golf, he was sitting on the driveway, listening to a sports game while barbequing and drinking a Bud Light.
As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend, Ed leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
