Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2025 at Edgewood assisted living. Age 95 years. Son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Faltyn) Sowulewski, Edward was born October 13, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Sally Ann Brieske, his loving wife of 58 years, on May 5, 1951. She predeceased him May 17, 2009. Edward had been employed by Grey Iron Foundry as a Glazier for 27 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its' choir and former member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and its' choir. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #688. Edward emceed and sang with the Songsters. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, stained glass work, the casinos and playing cards.
Surviving to cherish his memory are one son and one daughter, Greg Sowulewski, Bay City; Sue Marie and Daniel Shea, Bend, Oregon; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
