Edward V. Zachara

Webster-Edward Zachara, age 84, died peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in Webster, MA. Edward was born September 11, 1940 in Webster, MA. He was the son of the late Valerian Zachara and Frances (Kiwak) Zachara. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Zachara.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55+ years, Carol (Giakoumis) Zachara, and one daughter, Kimberly (Zachara) Poirier and her husband Andrew Poirier of Charlton, MA. He also leaves his cherished grandson and granddaughter, Joshua Zachara and Madison Poirier and his adored great grandson, Cameron Zachara, along with many special nieces and nephews that he held close to his heart.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam war, stationed in Germany. He worked in the auto industry, retiring in 2011 after many years of selling auto parts for General Motors and Ford Motor Company.
He was also a volunteer on the Webster ambulance squad and also on the Webster Planning and Zoning board. He took much joy, serving his home church in various ways through the years.
He enjoyed bowling, dancing, music, cars and above all else, spending time with his family, whether camping or family parties.
Calling hours will be Saturday, June 28th from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA.
A time of Remembrance will be held 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 28 at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, with Military Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Honor Guard.
