On Wednesday, November 30 2022, Edwin W. Zerrer Jr., age 89, passed away. Husband of G M (Peggy) Zerrer, (late December 7, 2022). Edwin is survived by his sons Edwin W. Zerrer III, Charles G. Zerrer and step children, Jeanne Helfrich, Patrick Callahan, Gary Callahan and Barbara Yerkes; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin W. Zerrer and Ruth Gheri Zerrer, daughter Linda Zerrer, brother Jack Zerrer and former wife and mother of his three children, Suzanne Gable.
Edwin grew up in Elkins Park, PA. He went to Cheltenham High School, attended Penn State University, was a M.P. in the U.S. Army and had a career in the textile industry.
As a younger man, Edwin loved to be towed behind a fast ski boat that was driven by his brother Jack, with his mother and the kids on board. Most years he would hit the road for a couple of weeks for a tour across country on his Gold Wing motorcycle.
For 38 years he loved and adored his wife Peggy. They enjoyed the Florida sunshine, the beach and shared a love of travel. She passed one week to the day after Edwin. An avid reader, friend of Bill Wilson and a great listener, he was a kind, gentle and contented man.
His family is requesting donations, in lieu of flowers, to "Flemington Food Pantry", (Flemington, N.J.), in his honor.
Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned Since 1978.
