Edythe L. Westerfield

Edythe Louise Westerfield, a native of Daphne, AL and a resident of Pensacola, FL, passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 87.
Edythe was a registered nurse and was employed at Bi-County Hospital in Warren, MI for 21 years. She was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed flowers and floral arranging, as well as crocheting. She loved cooking and hosting dinners for her family and friends, especially during the holidays.
Edythe is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Don Malcolm Westerfield; sister, Marion (King) Harness; and her parents, Edward Karl King and Pamela Tipling (Ewart) King.
She is survived by her children, Dale (Lois) Thieme of Pensacola, FL, Pamela Sue Hockey of Pensacola, FL, Don E. (Julie) Westerfield of Sterling Heights, MI and Rosalie Jane Westerfield of Shoreline, WA; grandchildren, Matthew (Kerry) Thieme, Steven (Donna) Hobson, Brian Thieme, Cherish Hockey, Alexander Hockey, Timothy Westerfield and Phillip Westerfield ; and six great-grandchildren, Lucas Thieme, Emilia Hobson, Elliot Thieme, Charles Hobson, Oliver Hockey and Rowan Hockey.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, at 11:30AM. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:30AM. Interment will be at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL.
