Elaine B. Barnhart-Engle, 79, of Lawn passed away on Monday June 23, 2025, at MS Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Franklin "Frank" D.R. Engle, with whom she celebrated 11 years in marriage.
Elaine was born in Lebanon, PA on June 24, 1945. She was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Snyder) Wagner. She was a graduate of Palmyra High School. She had been a manager at K-Mart prior to her retirement. Elaine was a member of Lawn EC Church, where she played the piano and organ and sang in the choir. Music was important to Elaine, as well as enjoying being outside working with her flowers, spending time with her family, friends, cats, and especially loving her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Frank, are her daughters, Kelly Laird (Robert) of Elizabethtown, Nichole Feldenzer (Kevin) of Palmyra, Michael Barnhart (Christine) of Elizabethtown, step-daughters, Kathi Burns of Lawn, Susan McDonough (Shane) of Gypsum, CO, grandchildren, Timothy, Emily, Gabriella, Kevin, Victoria, Rachel (Timothy), a great grandson, Luke, and a sister Donna Reich (David) of Annville. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Filler.
Visitation will be Sunday June 29, 2025, from 2:00 – 3:00 with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm at Lawn EC Church, 5566 Elizabethtown Rd, Palmyra, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Elaine's memory may be made to The Humane Society, The Susquehanna Chorale or Lawn EC Church.
