Gary Samuel Gay, 70, passed away August 19, 2025 at 12:45 p.m. from complications of pneumonia while being treated at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware.

Born on October 4, 1954, Gary is predeceased by his mother Marjorie (Fry) Gay, father Samuel Gay and his sister Marjorie Ruth Gay. He is survived by his cousins Garwood Hoagland of Pennsylvania, and Joanne (Gay) Jones of Minnesota and his loving partner of over 32 years, Betty Ann Draper of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, and her Daughter, Shawna Rehnstron of Knoxville, Tennessee, and her family..

Gary was a big man with a big heart, always willing to offer a helping hand and provide words of care to friends, family and neighbors. His passion was the road, being a truck driver for over 41 years and a consummate story-teller, gladly sharing the many experiences he encountered during the years of travelling across this great country which he loved.

A graduate of Palmyra High School in Palmyra, New Jersey, Gary gained his life degree and vast knowledge through the hard work and long hours he spent behind the wheel. Retiring 13 years ago, he spent the last few years of his life building a loving home with his partner Betty and their household of furry kids, having a soft spot in his soul for all pets and animals.

Gary's presence will be greatly missed.

The family will be celebrating Gary's life with a gathering from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Gary's life partner, Betty Ann Draper, at their home at 44 Darling Drive, Camden-Wyoming, DE 19934.
